Vincent Strudwick Lecture 2023: watch the recording

The 2023 Vincent Strudwick Lecture on Religion in Public Life, Evil and the God of Love was given by Rupert Shortt.

Rupert Shortt is the author of nine books, including ‘Rowan’s Rule: The Biography of the Archbishop’ (2014) and ‘The Hardest Problem: God, Evil and Suffering’ (2022), both published by Hodder. He is currently a Research Associate at the Von Hugel Institute, University of Cambridge, and was formerly a Visiting fellow at Blackfriars, Oxford. He served as the religion editor of The Times Literary Supplement from 2000 to 2020.

The Lecture was chaired by Professor Jane Shaw, Principal of Harris Manchester College, and an Honorary Fellow of Kellogg College.

The Rev Canon Vincent Strudwick is an Honorary Fellow of Kellogg College, and is a theologian and educationalist.

The Vincent Strudwick Lecture is held annually in honour of his work and brings eminent theologians and other scholars and public figures to speak about religion and public life.
