As a research assistant at the Oxford Internet Institute, Blue investigates the societal impact of Artificial Intelligence, leveraging a technical master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Amsterdam. Their academic focus spans the technical facets of fairness and explainability in AI, as well as the broader multidisciplinary effects of AI on society.

Blue’s technical background in AI combined with their experience in digital policy making and community organising, motivates them to bridge the gap between society, academia, and policy. Blue advocates for systematic research and development of tools and approaches to ensure intersectional, holistic, and fair algorithmic and AI systems, emphasising the necessity to centre affected and marginalised communities.
