Dr Joana Pinto
Fellow, Junior Research Fellow
Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Biomedical Engineering
Department of Engineering Science
PhD, MSc, BSc (Lisbon)
Joana is a postdoctoral research assistant in the Department of Engineering Science.
After obtaining her PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Lisbon (2019), Joana joined Professor Daniel Bulte’s group at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering in January 2020.
Joana’s research involves studying brain health using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), a completely non-invasive imaging technique that allows quantitative mapping of cerebral physiology and haemodynamics. In particular, Joana will be involved in the design and implementation of tools to stimulate or monitor human physiology as well as in the development of specific image acquisition and analysis methods to characterise neurovascular function.
