Visitor on sabbatical leave

Department of Computer Science

Tom Schrijvers became a visiting fellow at Kellogg College in November 2022. He will stay at the college throughout February-July 2023 while on sabbatical leave from KU Leuven, Belgium. At the same time he will be visiting the Oxford University Department of Computer Science. When not on sabbatical leave, he teaches on the Informatics and Engineering: Computer Science programmes at the KU Leuven Department of Computer Science. Before joining KU Leuven in 2014, he held a lectureship at Ghent University, Belgium.

His research interests are in programming languages: how to make better languages or improve existing ones, and how to use and reason about them in better ways. He is particularly concerned with those languages based on mathematical or declarative concepts, such as functional and logic languages.

He is Secretary of the International Federation for Information Processing’s Working Group 2.1 on “Algorithmic Languages and Calculi” since 2014.
